What does Shinydocs do?

Founded in 2014, we leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning to help companies organize their documents by finding unstructured information wherever it exists and eliminating redundant, obsolete, and trivial files. Shinydocs searches, organizes, and understands unstructured data at scale, providing actionable security, compliance, and business operations insights. We’re partnering with some of the largest technology companies in the world to revolutionize how they handle information.

How will I make an impact?

As a Director of Product Marketing reporting to the CEO and building a team from scratch, you will own the vision and strategic direction of all Shinydocs products

Within your first 30 days, you’ll familiarize yourself about our products, market, and customers, while thinking about product positioning, market and competitive intelligence, building relationships with analysts, enabling our sales team, and a go-to-market strategy.

Beyond your first 30 days, we are looking to you to build a team to research the market and analyze the data to determine messaging, opportunities, pricing, and overall product marketing strategies.

What are the requirements?

  • Thorough understanding and experience of B2B product marketing and product management within the tech industry
  • Strong focus on using data to make informed decisions with the ability to communicate the business value to stakeholders
  • Proven experience in finding the right angle for differentiation of a product from the rest of the market, enabling our sales team to sell more effectively
  • Ability to create and execute a strategic product marketing plan, including product positioning, pricing, value propositions, buyer personas, and a go-to-market strategy
  • Experience building and leading an effective team

What are the challenges?

We’re a fully bootstrapped small company that is growing very quickly. There will be growing pains. It can be a bit chaotic at times and that backlog just keeps growing, but it’s an evolving company culture and you can help shape it. Until then, you have to be very comfortable with lack of structure, understand that you won’t have time to do everything, and know how to prioritize tasks on your own. Don’t be surprised if priorities change often.
