What makes a great place to work?

Over the past few weeks, we partnered with the Great Place to Work® Institute of Canada to put that question to the test.

After going through their rigorous certification process, including their Trust Index Survey and a cultural summary, Shinydocs came out the other side as an officially certified Great Place to Work®, effective July 2021. 

Great Place to Work® is the global authority on workplace culture. Their use of research-backed methodologies and benchmarking data, combined with decades of experience vetting workplace culture, means they really understand what makes a great workplace.

For us, above all, being a great place to work is truly a reflection of our people. Shinydocs’ programs stem from our people and the strong values they display day after day: Excellence, Adaptability, and Teamwork. We care about the environment we create for each other, and working towards optimizing that is at the core of our success. On top of that, we also offer a number of perks and programs that add to our amazing work environment.

Wellness

We demonstrate just how much we value the health and well-being of our employees by providing a variety of wellness programs including daily fitness activities and a dedicated Slack channel that focuses on mental health and well-being. We offer yoga sessions, catered healthy meals, generous paid time off policies, and flexible working arrangements. We’ve even created “Shiny Days” throughout the year: a paid shut-down day designed to give our employees extra rest during stressful periods.

Professional Development

It’s never too early or too late for professional development at Shinydocs. We offer a job-shadowing program that begins right from onboarding. All employees also have the opportunity to consistently engage in conversations with their leaders, the CEO, and with our HR Business Partner in order to create and review documented growth plans. We strive to fill positions internally as much as possible.

Recognition

Last but certainly not least, we value the individual wins of each and every employee, and make a point of celebrating them regularly. We also have an organically grown employee recognition program. All employees are encouraged to communicate positive feedback with others who have impressed them.
